Farm Description: Chemical free since 1989 on the home farm where the veggies, chicken, and eggs are produced. Corn, soybeans, wheat and most hay are in rented fields in the area (120 acres total). We are ecologically diverse and enjoy giving educational tours.
Practices: We use cover crops, pasture, and hay to control erosion on sloped land. Mulches and covers in vegetables, and rotational grazing with animals. We have solar collectors for hot air to supplement wood burning. John is a solar expert for farms/homes.
