Farm Description:
Noah Valley Farm lies in the hills of Calhoun County, AL, between Jacksonville and the Coosa River. We have a 2 acre garden and about 45 acres of mixed oak hickory and maple forest. An early 20th century homestead with some cattle, this valley sat fallow during the 90's. I moved back here, where I grew up, and started Noah Valley Farm in 2001. Part of the original farm, 7 acres where the pecan trees are and the original garden was, are currently on the market, however we can't afford to purchase it yet.

Practices:
We use a variety of sustainable farming practices including crop rotations, farmscaping, mulches and row covers, unheated hoop-houses, and low till techniques. Sustainable forestry is becoming a more important goal for this farm.

Describe your product specialties and highlights:
This year we're growing more of our favorite crops such as heirloom tomatoes, cantaloupes, shiitake mushrooms, and winter squash, while we expand our flower and herb production.
