Farm Description: Date Creek Ranch is one of the oldest working cattle ranches in Arizona. It is family owned and operated. Our family came to Arizona to ranch in the 1870's. Date Creek Ranch is a desert ranch with 60 sections of mostly state owned land. It incorporates one of the healthiest riparian areas in the state. Through grazing management over the last 35 years the creek has had a remarkable recovery. From wide sandy expanses to a narrow, overgrown stream channel with beaver dams. We see livestock as a tool to restore the rangeland. We are proud stewards of the land.
Practices: We constantly try to improve water, mineral and energy cycles through holistic management practices. Animal density and herd effect are our main management tools. Animals are born and raised out on natural desert pastures without routine supplementation. Hormones, antibiotics or steroids are never given.
Describe your product specialties and highlights: We direct market our delicious grass fed beef to customers. Our animals never leave the farm and are treated with respect. We are committed to holistic management principles. In July and September we sell organic tree ripened peaches and apples.
Where we sell our products: Grass fed beef available on custom basis throughout the year, pls call Stefan @ 928-231-0704 to make arrangements. Our grass fed beef is available in quarters. We serve the greater Phoenix and Prescott area.
Currently we also sell through the Prescott College CSA @ 928-350-1401.
July is Peach season. September is Apple season.
