Farm Description: August Earth CSA has been around since 2004 when we started a small CSA outside of Duluth, MN on land owned by The Food Farm, another CSA that is well established. We have farmed at our 40 acre certified organic site outside of Hutchinson since 2005. In 2007 we have 85 members. We have quite a few member events for shareholders including work days, festivals, tours, and a RAFT tasting event where "endangered" vegetable varieties are sampled (all are optional).
Practices: We are certified organic through MOSA. We use cover crops as our main source of fertility and also make our own compost. We have a crop rotation and work pasture-raised feeder pigs on fields out of rotation. We protect natural habitat and have about 5 acres of wetlands on our property.

Where we sell our products: We sell most of our produce through our CSA which delivers to Litchfield and St. Peter, MN in addition to an on-farm site just outside of Hutchinson. We also sell produce to the St. Peter Food Co-op.
