Farm Description:
    Del Rio Botanicals, the Produce Express Farm produces unique, ethnic, and speciality produce for the restrauant trade. In addition we produce seed for 485 different varieties of vegetables, culinary herbs, medicional herbs, gourds, and flowers. 30 acres is in organic production. 170 acres is in the process of being converted to organic production. Our year round fresh vegetable suppply, the dedicated year round crew, and the continual seed production keep us growing 12 months of the year.

Practices:
    Del Rio Botanicals uses a unique blend of seed producing cover crops, crop rotations, organic practices, and solar enegry to produce the seed we use and sell. From our rebar tomato cages, our the solar powered greenhouse, to our solar well we employ as many alternative energy practices as we can access.

Describe your product specialties and highlights:
    We raise over 400 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers for direct market to restaurants through Produce Express. In addition we have a gourmet CSA box which includes many of the items we market to restaurants. Our seed production includes many gourds, seeds from Mexico and medicinals. Many of these items are heirlooms, including ethnic heirlooms. The line of rare Chinese medicional herbs, culinary herbs and flowers adds to the variety of production of fresh product and seed.

    Our produce is available to the restaurant trade through Produce Express.
