I've tested various no-till kill factors (Undercutting, sheet mulch, out-competing with woody plants, fire ), but they all seem to have some problems with extra labor required. So far plastic mulch seems to work the best, but too expensive and I don't enjoy the consequence of hard-packed soil.

Anyone has suggestion of other type of kill factors? and at the same time buildis soil?

My farm is in Hawaii where there is no winter kill which makes it difficult to use certain plants like guinea grass that can be a great soil builder, but keeps growing. It grows here as a biggest weed and we have to dig with backhoe. The farm is located on steep hill side so tractor access is also limited.
