Hey yall, this is my first post as a new member. Well I joined a few weeks ago but have been busy. Im a hobby farmer, summer and fall market grower and Im switching over part of my place to organic in the next few years. This year was my first year growing my own tomato, pepper, and melon plants. I found I had better plants than those I could buy. I far roughly 4.5 acres now. I raise tomatos, peas,beans, squash,zuccini, watermelons, and peanuts. And in the fall I grow mustard , turnip and rape. We usually supply 3 restaurants with vegetables with squash and zuccini as my 2 main items.
I garden with a Farmall Cub and a 3000 Yanmar. I make most of my implements and salvage them from scrap yards. I also compost leaves I get from the town and manure and hay from a friends cattle operation. |
