I'm a senior in college, environmental studies minor, and I'm looking to find some sort of summer job working on an organic farm in Michigan for the summer -- Kent, Montcalm, Mecosta, Ottawa, or Newaygo counties. How do I go about finding a job in this area? Are there websites to browse through or newsletters to get ahold of? I've done a lot of work lately with student environmental groups on sustainable living, composting, organic farming...beekeeping. I'm in Ohio right now, so it's really hard to get an idea of what might be available in Michigan. Does anyone have any ideas?

You might also check out http://www.attrainternships.ncat.org/ and http://www.wwoofusa.org/. And since you're in Michigan, you should know that Michigan State University is putting together a 16-month organic farming certificate program. It will also be a core option for undergrad ag majors.

well, it's the end of May, so the person who started this thread has probably found something already, but I thought I'd mention that this site has classifieds as well. In fact, I found the classifieds before I found this forum. So, for those who can't just hit the back button to get to them, go to the home page, then on the right there is a list typed in green on black background, and in there is a link to the classifieds.

I noticed about a half dozen farms looking for interns or workers.
