Finnish dairy group Valio received only the third Chinese
Grade A Green Food label given to a foreign company.
The Green Food label is given by the Chinese Ministry
of Agriculture to companys exhibiting product safety
and environmental stewardship.
In order to be eligible for the award the entire manufacturing
process must comply with a strict list of criterion
for safe and environmentally sound production. In the
dairy industry this means that the entire chain extending
from farm to final product undergoes inspection.
