as reported by just-food.com: The EU has expressed
a new willingness to discuss eliminating trade distorting
practices. According a report by Just-Food.com, European
Commissioner for agriculture, Mariann Fischer Boel indicated
recently she would “accept a ‘new blue box
definition’, referring to the European Union’s
(EU) key set aside agricultural subsidies.”
The new attitude could prove beneficial in moving ahead
talks in the World Trade Organization’s (WTO)
Doha Development Round.
